Makeover Madness!

Hi everyone. This week I am linking up with some fellow bloggers with a Makeover Madness. To kick off the summer, or almost summer (I still have 8 days left) we are looking back at some of our products on Teachers pay Teachers and making over that product.

So for this challenge, I decided to make over 3 different products. I only worked on the cover page and the TOU page. Can you believe that I really did not have Terms of Use page on any of my products?

The first product I revamped was my Character Traits Puzzle. I had to change the cover page. I used a different background, border, and a totally different font. I feel so much better about this product.

Slide3

The next product I made over was my Math Circle Maps. I cringed when I looked back at my products. This was one of the first things that I made when I joined TpT. I can’t believe that it took me this long to redo the cover.

Slide2

So, what do you think? I love the red background!

I couldn’t stop at just two products to make over. So, I also worked on my Division Scoot: iPhones. It was just so boring!

Slide1

This is just what I needed to get off of my butt and start working on the covers of my products. Now that I started, I won’t be able to stop!

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi,
Rachel

Teacher Deal and Dollar Steal

Hi everyone! Today is my day to post and offer you a $! deal at Teacher Deals and Dollar Steals.

There are only 31 more days of school for me (I’m so jealous of those of you who are closer to the end of the school year!)and my kids were starting to get a glazed look in their eyes during science, which is so not my favorite subject.  You know that look…the glazed over, this is so boring look you get from your kids somedays.

So, I decided to use my interactive notebooks for my living and nonliving science unit. My kids were so excited when I brought out the different pages for them to work on. I mean, what 2nd grader doesn’t like to glue and cut? The kids love to take their interactive notebooks home and color the pages. It also gives my students the chance to show off their work to their parents.

My kiddos worked hard on these pages of the Living Things Interactive Notebook.  They loved it and so did I!

My Force and Motion Interactive Notebook is also on sale for the next three days.

My kids loved creating the mini golf course using the different types of motion to show the path of the golf ball. It is also a great activity for your students to work on at home with a parent.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi and don’t forget, these two interactive notebooks are only $1 for the next 3 days.

The first book my reading curriculum uses is Charlotte’s Web (in 2nd grade, in September!!!) My kids were so lost until I made this interactive notebook. Some Thanksgiving Fun!

Hi everyone. I can not believe that Thanksgiving is next week already. I am gearing up for some family time and some relaxation.

Last week, I shared an activity with you from Digital: Divide & Conquer. I used his Turn into a Turkey activity and it was such a big hit. You can read all about it here

Click below to check it out.
Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 6.08.08 PM

After working on Turn into a Turkey. I read the book T’was the Night Before Thanksgiving and Turkey Trouble. The kids thought both books were hilarious! 馃檪

Easy Teaching Tools has such a cute craftivity!! Turkey Trouble: Craftivity and Writing Activity where the kids have to disguise their turkey and write about it. I could not believe how create my kiddos were with their stories about How Not To Become Thanksgiving Dinner and how they disguised their turkeys.
Take a look at some of the turkeys they created.

Just look at this Princess Turkey! My student was so proud of her disguise. She used a barbie dress to disguise her turkey as a princess.
turkey6

Next, is the Super Spy Turkey. This kiddo didn’t have any material to use at home so he just used markers and crayons. My kids loved this turkey and thought it was very creative. 馃檪

turkey5

Another student disguised her turkey as a cat. I love the tail and the whiskers! Don’t you?

turkey1

One of my students shared his Cowboy Turkey! He read his story aloud and then shared how his turkey was in a rodeo. 馃檪

turkey4

Next, we have a Hula Turkey. This student went all out. His mom took apart a hula doll she had in their house. He story was fabulous about a turkey who disguised himself as a hula dancer because there was a party with dancers and the turkey was able to just dance right out of the house.

turkey3

Last, but not least is the Patriotic Turkey. My little girl was so cute when she shared her turkey. She said, “Of course we need a turkey disguised as the American Flag. Thanksgiving is an American holiday.” 馃檪

turkey2

I think the Hula Turkey and the Cowboy Turkey are my favorite! Which is your favorite?

Do you Tsu?

Hi everyone! It has been a while since I have posted. My kiddos are really keeping me busy. Not only are my report cards due on Monday, but all of our inside and outside (hallway) bulletin boards are due with feedback on what each student did well and what they need to work on, a self and peer reflection, and a rubric. Doing a self and peer reflection with my 2nd graders makes me want to pull my hair out!!
“Noooo, you can not write about your friend’s illustration in the peer reflection!” I said at least 15 times today.

Have you heard of Tsu? Tsu is a new social media platform that was launched last week. It is similar to facebook but you get payed a small amount of money for your content and for sharing posts. Maybe now we can see the people we follow and all of their post, unlike other social media platforms that want us to pay to followers!

Here is a video you can watch to find out more. Click on the Tsu video to find out more.

You need an invite to create your account. Click on the Tsu picture to create your own account. Screen Shot 2014-10-30 at 6.12.12 PM

Come follow me and a whole bunch of other bloggers for some great articles, humor, and of course some flash freebies that you won’t see on Facebook.

Well, I’m off to work on report cards and tons and tons of grading!
Thanks for stopping by,
Rachel
